"Princess every day!!"
(elbow dysplasia, hip dysplasia, tarsal rotation deformity)

“At eight months old, our precious Molly Moo, Bernese Mountain dog, was diagnosed with degenerative joint disease in both of her elbows. As a result, small bone fragments were getting lodged which caused pain, inflammation and disruption of articular cartilage in her elbows. At the same time she was also diagnosed with

mild hip dysplasia and tarsal rotation deformity (a deformity in her back paws which is common in larger breeds). Following arthroscopy surgery on her elbows Molly was in need of a lot of physical therapy. Thankfully for us, the wonderful therapist at the University of Wisconsin-Madison referred us to an even more wonderful therapist, Mary Kay.

I questioned if Molly would even be able to walk if it was not for Mary Kay. From the very beginning, almost 5 years ago, Mary Kay worked extensively on Molly. While Molly clearly had issues with her legs Mary Kay took a different approach than what we had previously experienced and began to work on her whole body with a focus on her back and eventually her ‘core’. Molly’s entire body was altered and her back and spine were crying for help! Mary Kay recognized that Molly’s leg issues had created many problems through her back due to the degree of compensations she had to make. Addressing Molly’s spine, back, legs and whole body made a world of difference for her and we saw great improvements in her everyday life! In addition, Mary Kay took the time to teach me how to perform massage and exercises that we could carry out at home during the week. We are so grateful that our girl has a more comfortable life because of Mary Kay’s fantastic ability and her 'special hands'.

Mary Kay not only treats animals with her expert therapy skills, she truly cares for them and has regularly called to see how our princess is doing. Molly’s excitement on Saturday mornings to go have therapy with Mary Kay speaks for itself! And she gets the added bonus of seeing her two Irish Setter boyfriends while she is there…. Big love all around!

I highly recommend Mary Kay and could only hope that anyone out there with a special animal friend who is in need of rehab would be lucky enough to fall across her.”
