Comprehensive evaluation includes assessments for orthopedic, neurologic and functional status. Recommendations for a Rehabilitation Plan are based on the findings from the Initial Evaluation and will be thoroughly explained and discussed.
Treatments, owner education and home program instruction are provided at the time of Initial Evaluation.
Reassessments of your pet's condition at each therapy session will ensure optimal care through every phase of the rehabilitation plan.
SERVICES
Evaluation/Assessment:
Soft tissue (muscle, tendon, fascia) mobilization and release, joint mobilization, massage, muscle energy, strain/counter-strain techniques, range of motion.
Skilled manual facilitation of the correct components of posture and movement patterns to promote optimal structural and functional balance.
Neuro-sensory-motor techniques for stimulating neural pathways; neuro-developmental treatment techniques for promoting and restoring balanced postures and motion as well as activating motor control in pediatric patients.
Manual Therapies:
Facilitated dynamic exercises for strengthening postural stabilizing muscles, core stability/control and balance.
Rebuilding strength, flexibility and function following periods of disuse and diminished function.
Restoring and improving high quality balanced movement patterns from poor quality compensatory “learned” patterns due to structural imbalances, injuries, stress, age, etc.
Proprioceptive and kinesthetic facilitation methods for enhanced stability, balance responses, motor coordination and whole body awareness.
Developing appropriate motor patterns and skills in pediatric patients that have started life off with structural deficiencies or injuries.
Facilitation and retraining of efficient gait and movement patterns for daily function as well as high level performance skills.
Concentric and eccentric contractions for strengthening core muscles, front and rear limbs through controlled movement.
Progressive strengthening, mobility and endurance programs specific to the needs of the patient including conformation, agility, service, search and rescue, field, therapy and many other performance dogs.
Therapeutic Exercise:
A form of infrared light therapy at specific wavelengths promoting positive physiologic changes and accelerated healing at the cellular level including relief of chronic and acute pain, reduction of inflammation, and enhancement of healing of tissues and wounds.
Therapeutic Laser (Modality):
Utilized for prevention of atrophy following injuries and surgeries, improving muscle strength and motor control, neuromuscular re-education, and enhancing neuro-biomechanical responses.
Therapeutic (NeuroMuscular)
Electrical Stimulation (Modality):
Measuring and fitting of custom carts/wheelchairs and splints/orthotics when specifically required and prescribed for your pet.
Wheelchairs, Splints, Orthotics:
Designed to help your pet enhance and make the most of their abilities, whether improving upon high level athletic or field skills, returning to competitive events/shows, or simply taking a walk in the neighborhood or functioning at home.
Dynamic activities for postural stability, core control and balance; strengthening through movement; enhanced balance capabilities and motor coordination; retraining of efficient gait and movement patterns; progressive strengthening and endurance programs.
Perfect for achieving optimal performance through interval and cross-training for varied endeavors.
Includes strength training, balance, coordination and flexibility exercises with specific individualized formats for increasing essential core stability for improving topline and control through all activities, strengthening and lengthening front and rear limbs for improved stability, power, reach and drive.
Conditioning & Training:
Specifically designed programs tailored to various business entities:
Veterinary practices: implementation of basic rehab care/services with training of staff for post-surgical (orthopedic, neurologic) home instruction, range of motion, massage, geriatric care, etc.
Training facilities: education and instruction in complementary techniques for enhancing skills and endurance of performance dogs through training regimens.
Day care facilities, groomers, etc: education and instruction in care and handling of post-surgical, post-injury and geriatric pets; instruction and training in basic augmentative care for pets undergoing rehab services.
Consultation Services:
Significant discounts to shelter and rescue groups to provide assistance to the vast numbers of rescued animals that may benefit from rehabilitation by improving their mobility, strength, comfort, energy and outlook on life.
Instruction to rescue/shelter/foster caregivers for improving the care and outcome for the individual as well as the consistency and effectiveness of the rehab plan.
Courtesy assessments and treatments extended to groups with special circumstances.
Considered a great privilege to dedicate services to promote better health and well-being of rescued animals and improve the chances of a loving adoption!
