Jake

“Our “Best Friend”, Jake, is now 15 years old! He is a mix of Bloodhound, Boxer, German Shepherd and Labrador. Last year, in November, we took a trip down to New Orleans. . He was already a little ‘gimpy’ before the trip, but did fine while in New Orleans. He had been on medicine (Metacam) already. On the way home Jake had some serious issues

with walking. We stopped outside of St. Louis for the night and when we tried to get Jake out of the car he could barely walk. His back completely arched, like a ‘reversed smile’ and his back legs were almost dragging. We thought he might have had a stroke. We called the emergency vet who said to keep a close eye on him, rest him overnight and if worse, to bring him in. Jake improved slightly overnight and the next day. We took him to our hometown vet when we returned. She said that Jake did not have a stroke though does have severe spinal issues and severe arthritis in his legs. She recommended seeing a Physical Therapist, which is when we met and began therapy with Mary Kay. Jake has responded so very well to the Physical Therapy. You can’t believe how relaxed he became with Mary Kay from the very beginning! She hand manipulated his legs and spine, laser treatment and other exercises. The treatments, once a week, I believe, have made Jake a whole lot better in walking and getting up. I don’t believe he would be with us if not for the Physical Therapy with Mary Kay. Jake’s therapist, Mary Kay, is wonderful with Jake and a terrific person!”
